Men’s Midweek Finals Inclement Weather Announcement
Due to the current Perth Weather Forecast for Thursday 30th March being an 80% chance of rain with 1 to 10mm the following conditions will apply for Midweek Finals.
If heavy showers continue during the afternoon, the minimum number of ends to determine a winner for a three-rink pennant fixture is 42 ends. However, it is expected that all sides playing in the fixture make all attempts to safely conclude the match if at all possible.
Where a fixture has been called off without playing the full number of ends, whether enough ends are played to constitute a game or it is abandoned without a result possible, it is expected that the Umpire of the Day supply a full report to Bowls WA outlining the circumstances for the early finish.
If an Individual Abandonment occurs the following conditions will be applied where a fixture does not play enough ends for a result
Promotion Finals
- All promotion finals are played within the home and away colour, therefore, if the fixture is abandoned the highest ranked side remaining in the finals will gain promotion.
Pennant Finals – Premier League North and South
- These finals are played within the home and away colour, therefore, if the fixture is abandoned the highest ranked remaining side will be declared the Pennant winner.
Pennant Finals 2nd Division and Below and Challenge Finals
- These finals are played by sides on equal terms from different colours or divisions, therefore, if the fixture is abandoned the fixture will be rescheduled to a date in September. Bowls WA will determine those dates in consultation with the clubs involved.
