2024 Coach Course Schedule – UPDATE

9/9/24 UPDATE (4): ALL CLUB COACH COURSES HAVE BEEN COMPLETED. THERE ARE TWO SELECTION MODULES LEFT TO ATTEND – ONE IN PORT BOUVARD ON SATURDAY 21 SEPTEMBER IN THE MORNING FROM 9AM TO 12PM – THE SECOND AT OSBORNE PARK BOWLING CLUB ON SUNDAY 22 SEPTEMBER IN THE AFTERNOON FROM 1PM TO 4PM. DETAILS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS UPDATE.
UPDATE: (3): SELECTION MODULE SCHEDUELD FOR DUNSBOROUGH BOWLING CLUB ON MONDAY 2 SEPTEMBER HAS BEEN MOVED TO BUSSELTON BOWLING CLUB. THIS MODULE WILL BE RUN BY HELEN PAGANONI AND LINDA WARBURTON FROM 1PM TO 4PM. APPLICATIONS CLOSE THIS THURSDAY 22 AUGUST.

Two Day In-Person Coach Course Information: COMPLETED
On the day:
- Report to the correct venue by 8:45 am
- Each day will end at approximately 4:30 pm
- Bring your Question & Answers (sent on registration)
- Bring your Coaching Manual & Activities Booklet (sent on registration)
- Bring your own lunch (coffee and tea supplied)
The Club Coach course is ideally suited to coaches regularly working at club level, coaching teams or individuals. Amongst a range of other knowledge and skill components, this course covers a broad range of general coaching theories and specific bowls content, including:
* | Conduct a coaching session to teach skills and tactics |
* | Identify appropriate delivery |
* | Identify appropriate drills for shot development |
* | Apply technique analysis to provide appropriate feedback |
* | Identify the correlation between line and weight and environment |
* | Implement inclusive activities for the coaching of bowls |
* | Identify physical growth and development considerations |
* | Identify the specific responsibilities of lead, second, third and skip |
* | Assist athletes with basic nutritional strategies for sports performance |
* | Demonstrate effective communication strategies |

Once we receive your registration and process payment we will mail out to you a Club Coach Manual, the BA Activities Handbook, a set of Questions to answer, and a receipt for payment.
NOTE: Each State has different requirements for obtaining a Working With Children (WWC) card. In Western Australia it is a legal requirement to have a card if working with or coaching children … to see Bowls WA processes to comply with WA WWC laws when providing Coach Courses click HERE.
One Day Online BowlsLearn Presentation & Coach Course Review: COMPLETED

- Bring your Coaching Manual & Activities Booklet (sent on registration)
- Bring your own lunch (coffee and tea supplied)

Once we receive your registration and process payment we will mail out to you a Club Coach Manual, the BA Activities Handbook, a set of Questions to answer, and a receipt for payment. You can start taking the online course at any point; however, you must have finished it prior to attending the one-day Presentation Review. Instructions to take the course online can be found HERE.

Selection Module Information (NEW – PORT BOUVARD – SEPT 21):

On the day:
- Morning Module (9 am – 12 pm): Report to the correct venue by 8:45 am
- Afternoon Module (1 – 4 pm): Report to the correct venue by 12:45 pm
- Manuals will be provided upon arrival
The Selection Module is designed for club coaches, selectors and others who are keen to ensure their club has best practice selection standards. Coaches should attend this workshop to learn more about bench-marking players, which can assist with selection, while Selectors and Committee Members are advised to attend this workshop to learn how to create a selection policy and a healthy philosophy for their club.
