Project Officer – Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Bowls WA is seeking applications for the “Project Officer – Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” role linked to the recent Inclusive Participation Grant acquired through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries and LotteryWest.
The part-time role (0.6 FTE) will be tasked with co-ordinating the successful execution of the grant objectives for the “Reflecting and Respecting Our Community” project which will focus on building capacity within our Clubs to embrace new people into the sport.
There are two major streams of the project:
- Seniors Community – through the provision of quality coaching and introductory programs, Bowls WA will assist clubs to engage with local Retirement and Lifestyle Villages, some with bowling facilities of their own, to introduce more Seniors to the sport of bowls
- LGBTQIA+ Community – through the initial provision of quality education and information forums, Bowls WA along with industry partners will build the capacity with our clubs to cater for a more diverse participation and membership base
The role is currently funded through to 31st May 2027, with scope for the role to continue beyond that period subject to funding.
