WA Under 18’s State Teams Announced
The Bowls WA High Performance Panel is excited to announce the Under 18 team that will represent Western Australia in the National Under 18 Championships at Club Tweed on October 9th and 10th.
The Boy’s team sees all our Under 18 State Championship winners being selected.
Callum Alberti (Osborne Park) will again play the singles, looking to go one better than last year in the Nationals at Sorrento. Callum will then combine with his Under 18 State Pairs winning partner Edan Manifis (Osborne Park) to bring home a National Pairs title.
The WA Under 18 State Triples Champions, Harper Wass (Coorow), Dante Burnham (Cockburn), and Jarrod Steele (Doubleview), will stay together for the triples, with Edan joining them to Skip the Fours.
The girls have a combined team with four WA and one ACT. WA joined with the ACT last year to great success and we look forward to that relationship again.
ACT will take the singles position as well as the Skip in the Triples.
Drew Gunson (Maylands) and Sophie Hays (Joondalup) will combine for the pairs and are sure to be much more confident after last year’s experience at Sorrento.
Sylvia Burgess (Cockburn) and Eleana Manifis (Osborne Park) will be attending their first Nationals and will compete in the Triples with ACT and be joined by Drew and Sophie in the fours.
