Countryweek Composite Entry Changes
The process for entering a Countryweek Composite Entry has been changed for the 2025-2026 Men’s and Women’s Countryweek Events.
Every year, there is considerable discussion amongst clubs and players regarding composite entries in general, and the circumstances for their approval.
After many years of fine-tuning the reasons to allow composite entries, the last six years of Event Conditions of Play have given only two reasons for allowing composite entries: family members in different clubs and a lack of players within the club who wish to play countryweek.
While these conditions will remain, it has been decided that clubs themselves are in the best position to evaluate if a player qualifies to enter a composite team.
Therefore, when the entry forms come out for Countryweek, it will include a composite form that will require a club official from each player’s home club to sign before submitting to Bowls WA.
This method of approval will be trialled for this season, and Bowls WA will ask for feedback from clubs at the conclusion of both Men’s and Women’s Countryweek.
A memo has previously been sent to all country clubs, leagues and zones explaining the new approval process and this can be viewed on the link below.
