WA Under 18’s Disciplines Announced

The Bowls WA Under 18 Selectors are excited to announce the Under 18 team that will represent Western Australia in the National Under 18 Championships at Mount Lawley Bowling Club from Monday 5th to Thursday 8th October 2026

In the Boys’ team, four of the selected players, Callum Alberti, Aaron Birch, Elijah Blackwood, and Matthew Larkman played in last year’s Nationals. That experience of previously playing in the National Championships together will serve the boys well. The most experienced is Callum, who has been the mainstay of the WA Under 18 team for many years. However, this will be Callum’s last Under 18 Nationals as he ages out after these championships.

Kyle Harwood is the only boy to make his debut this year. Kyle has come through the Cockburn Academy as a Cockburn member and has been rewarded for his consistency in the State Under 18 Championships and the practice and trial sessions that have been conducted since April.

The Girls’ team sees Sylvia Burgess, Sophie Hays, and Eleana Manifis returning once again after being members of the WA Girls Under 18 team for the last few years.

Eden Dearle and Tia Keighley will make their debut in their home state this year.

Eden made a great first impression in the April State Championships and is a proud member of the Rockingham Bowling Club.

Tia has continued to improve over the last two years and has worked very hard to earn her spot in the WA team. Tia is a member of the recently named Small Metropolitan Club of the Year, the Armadale Bowling Club
