Grant Nicol secures World Singles berth Grant Nicol played the best bowls of his career to outclass some quality opponents and earn a trip to the UK in the World Indoor Singles. Playing at Innaloo Sportsmen’s Club Nicol also known as “the General” had spent plenty of hours in practice on the indoor surface and turned it to his advantage with some brilliant bowling. An ex-pat UK resident with Scottish heritage Nicol is sure to enjoy the chance to take on the World’s best.
In the final he was up against Australian International Brett Wilkie who was a World Champion in Singles in 2009 and looking in ominous form with two comfortable straight sets wins in the lead up however he could not match the draw power of Nicol in the final.
