Under 18’s Bowls is an important part of the bowls scene in WA.
Under 18’s are welcomed at all clubs and club coaches will show them the basics and etiquette of the game. They are more than welcome to participate in all of the events and competitions run by clubs.
Bowls WA conducts State Under 18’s Championships each year around April and these are an important stepping stones for Under 18’s wanting to proceed further in the sport.
The State Under 18’s Selectors pick a State Squad from which a WA side is selected to play in the National Championships in October each year.
Bowls WA also runs a series of Under 18’s coaching sessions during the year which are open to all Under 18’s. Clubs also run specific events for Under 18’s.
2025
The Bowls WA Under 18 Selectors are excited to announce the Under 18 team that will represent Western Australia in the National Under 18 Championships at Devonport Country Club, Tasmania, from Monday 10th to Thursday 13th November 2025
The selectors have been able to select five boys and five girls to make a full WA team. This is the first time in several years that WA has sent a full girls team, which is a testament to the players, coaches and supporters at all levels nurturing our young talent.
Specific positions have not been assigned at this point in time, as selectors will make these final decisions in the months ahead.
In the Boys’ team, Callum Alberti (Osborne Park) and Dante Burnham (Cockburn) return for another tilt at a National title and will be joined by debutants Aaron Birch (Pinjarra), Elijah Blackwood (East Fremantle), and Matthew Larkman (Waroona)
The Girls’ team sees Sylvia Burgess (Cockburn), Sophie Hays (Osborne Park), and Eleana Manifis (Osborne Park) return from last year and are joined by Rhiana Manahi (Midland Morrison) and Erin Torpy (Gosnells).
