Governance

The Royal Western Australian Bowling Association (Inc), trading as Bowls WA, is responsible for advancing, promoting and controlling the game of lawn bowls in WA.

Bowls WA is made up of 203 bowling clubs (metro – 65, country – 137) with a total of over 13,000 members. This makes it one of the largest sporting organisations in WA.

The organisation is governed by a set of Rules to cover the management of the organisation, a set of By Laws to cover the game and Policies on a wide range of matters. All of these documents can be found in the Governance section.

The organisation is managed by a Board of up to 10 members and has 6 full time and 1 part time staff. A comprehensive Committee structure reports to the Board.

The Committee structure includes three Compulsory Standing Committees with another five Advisory Committees and a Protests and Disputes Committee. Bowls WA also relies of a number of other volunteers within Greens and Competitions plus Club Executives to fulfil important roles within the sport.
