Round in Review

BCiB Pennants Round 8 The grind has well and truly set in for some after eight rounds of competition. Luckily for those players we have just one more round of competition before the Christmas break. Perhaps the fatigue is showing with amount of high scores declining in recent weeks? Nevertheless there were still some big winners to talk about this week.
The biggest aggregate victory this week was Wanneroo’s massive 81 shot victory over Osborne Park 2 in 3rd Division Gold. Their smallest rink victory was still a very solid 13 shots and the win included two rink margins of over 20 shots. Another significantly win was the 74 shot win by Mundaring’s 5th Division Gold side. Across the three rinks the average winning margin was almost 24 shots with the biggest win also being the biggest rink win competition wide. The 39 shot win by Ceri Price, Bill Myles, Ian Allison and Phillip Barton helped to ensure the aggregate was never beyond doubt. Remarkably the team conceded just four shots for the entire game in the win.
The largest aggregate margin in the women’s competition came from Leeming’s 34 shot win over Bedford in 2nd Division Orange. Both rinks had comfortable days with both the Harburn and Syme rinks winning by 17 shots. The rounds largest rink win came from 3rd Division Pink. The Morley team of Emma Sinatra, Beryl Barron, Maureen Liddington and Marlene Lee were victorious by 25 shots in their game against Valley. The win carried the side to a division high 21 shot aggregate win despite dropping the other rink.
