The Annual General Meeting has confirmed the appointment of Ross Warburton to join the Board for a two year term. Ross has been active in administration in his position as the President of the South West Zone and delegate to the Country Committee. From the Brunswick Bowling Club he brings a wealth of bowling and business experience to the Board. At the meeting Therese Hastings confirmed her intention to resign her position after four years service. President Graham Leeks acknowledged her clear and concise thinking in relation to issues within the sport and her general experience and knowledge has been invaluable and will be missed at this level. However Therese will not be lost to the game as she continues in her important role as Chair of the Fixtures & Events Committee, in addition to her coaching roles with the National Training Centre (NTC) and state ladies team.
Elected unopposed to the Board were:
President – Graham Leeks
Deputy President – Kerry Andersen
Directors – Marc Abonnel, Tim Murray, Hendy Cowan
Incumbent members Linda Deegan-Humphries and Lisa Featherby together with Appointed Director, Vince Del Prete will continue in their roles for a further 12 months.
The Bowls Management Committee welcomes newly elected Kevin Murphy (Nollamara) to the committee. Kevin is no stranger to administration in Bowls WA and looks forward to contributing to this important group. Elected Members returning to the BMC were Anne Lilley, Bev Bradshaw and Merle Burn, together with Brian Burton.
There remains a vacancy for one lady and two gentlemen, which will now be made by appointment.
