Women’s State Squad announced
The Bowls WA Women’s Selection panel have announced the Women’s State Squad for trials to represent Western Australia at the 2017 Australia Sides Championships in South Australia at Lockleys Bowling Club April 6th – 9th.
The squad includes eleven of the twelve players who performed well for WA winning silver last series. Linda Warburton has announced her retirement from the Open side as she will concentrate on playing with the Over 60’s State team. Warburton debuted in 2011 and had played 33 games for WA. The Bowls WA Coaches and Selectors congratulate her on an excellent representative career and thank her for her efforts.
Angela Gunson and Rhonda Prosser are newcomers to the squad who impressed last season with some good performances in State events. 28 year old Kelli Wray a previous WA state player has returned from South Australia where she was a development officer with Bowls SA and also a state player. Wray made her debut for WA in 2006 and should come under strong consideration given her past record.
