Leeming Lions roar in 5th division

by admin on December 13, 2016

Round in Review 8 This week of BCiB Pennants was a bit more low key in terms of score sizes across the metro pennant competition than it has been recently but there’s still been plenty happening including the earning of a badge. As usual here is the one stop shop to see all the interesting things that happened.
Men’s Saturday Competition
Ladies and gentleman we have a 50 badge. This week’s biggest rink winners scored over 50 shots and have therefore earned the badge. The 5th Division Leeming Lions side of Leroy McDorman, Allen Kinnish, Brian Phillips and Robert King had a 53-7 score line to be this week’s best rink by some way. The size of the win was such that not only did they carry the aggregate by themselves with the two other rinks going down but their side still  won by 37 shots.
This week’s biggest aggregate win came from 3rd Division where Kalamunda defeated Mt Lawley by 61 shots. The win was set up mainly by Ian Cornthwaite’s side’s division best 31 shot win. The side picked up all eight points in the win.
There another rather interesting game in 3rd Division between Wanneroo and Osborne Park 2. While a 6.5-1.5 split may seem relatively unremarkable the result came about due to three rinks playing out draws. Wanneroo were the winners courtesy of Steve Denny’s 24 shot win on the only rink that did not draw.

This week the best aggregate win in women’s pennants came from Innaloo for the second week in a row. This week it was their 2nd Division side that got on top of the opposition with a 64 shot win over Inglewood. The biggest rink margin in 2nd Division was also part of the game thanks to Dianne Nowotny’s rink and their 29 shot win. Both of the other rinks also won by double digits.
The biggest rink win competition wide came from Hilton Park’s 3rd Division side. Julie Davision’s rink won 38-7 with the 31 shot margin a key part of Hilton’s victory over Melville.
