Call for Bowling Arm Players

by admin on January 18, 2017

There is a fantastic opportunity for players with bowlers arms in WA.  A new representative side is being developed in time to compete for WA in the Australian bowling arm championships to be held in Moama NSW from Sunday the 10th to the 13th September 2017.
Currently there are 21 players registered for the event and we will need 15 plus two reserves for the mixed-gender team.  There is still time to register your interest in this event prior to the initial meeting at the end of February.

Interested bowlers arm players will meet at Halls Head Bowling Club in Mandurah on Sunday the 26th February 2017 at 10 am. There will be discussion about where the initial group is at including what has transpired to date, accommodation, travel, sponsorship, future meetings and squad selection.
Following this will be a  byo lunch followed by a game of bowls, so bring your arm.
Halls head club have their men’s singles championships on this day, so we will have to wear our club colours or whites. The green fees are $8/head and we have been promised a green to play on, thanks to Halls Head club for this.

If you wish to stay in Mandurah overnight, then accommodation can be arranged by calling Max Hughes on 0427 267 011.
Please advise any of your other club members, or friends that play with an arm, that the meeting at halls head is on – the more attendees the better.
Denise McMillan from Bowls WA will be attending to address the players and will advise of any matters from a Bowls WA perspective.
Please advise me if you can make the day, and also if you cannot make the day but are interested in participating in this exciting new development!
