Club Challenge Information released

Sectional draw for the 2017/18 Season The Bowls Premier League (BPL) inspired Club Challenge Cup Sections have been formulated following the completion of the promotions and demotions from the 2016/17 season.
In the first year the Sections will mirror the placings of clubs/teams from the Tuesday and Saturday competitions, with a broader 1st, 2nd, 3rd division structure to aid less travel for individual teams.
Whenever possible clubs who have synthetic greens will be fixtured to host the early rounds of play, allowing clubs with grass greens more time to prepare for the regular pennant competition.
The new fast paced format will have some of the Conditions of Play from the BPL and more recently introduced at the well received Mandurah BPL Cup.
In short the competition will;

Be a triples format with three teams forming the Side (9 players in total),
Be Sets Play based with two 5-end sets played with a 1-end tie breaker if required. It is envisaged that games will take approximately 60 minutes,
Include the use of a single Power Play end in each Set – to potentially double the shots won,
Consist of playing three games against the teams in your Section on the Tuesday morning or Saturday afternoon – hosted by one of the clubs on a round robin basis (similar to Ladies Friday night pennant),
Give the opportunity for players to play one, two or three games on the day and change teams and positions for each of the games if desired,
Give the opportunity to substitute players after each game depending upon team numbers and selection policy,
Allow the winners of each Section after the four rounds to play in a cross division finals for the Division Pennant.
Have sections that are geographically structured to reduce travel.

We eagerly look forward to the competition and the variation it will bring, while continuing the income flow into clubs through the hosting of the home and away sectional rounds.
