Club Grants program strongly supported
An initiative by the Bowls WA Club Development Committee the Club Grants program has been strongly supported with 27 clubs making applications for funding.
This program which allows clubs to apply for funding towards local club run projects or events, with an outcome of increased participation, saw a total of $40,000 offered by Bowls WA to support clubs in its inaugural year. Such has been the response more than double that amount has been requested with the evaluation committee now required to make some tough decisions on funding approvals.
Bowls WA is happy to be faced with making such a difficult decision with so many exciting projects being submitted by clubs with many looking to embrace their local community to attract more people to our sport. Other areas of focus were with junior bowlers, schools program, disability and inclusion events and family based bowls programs. Bowls WA plans to showcase many of these programs as they are completed in future months with the results and how they were delivered to become future learnings for the sport.
The Club Grants funding announcement will be made on Wednesday 28th September.
