Bowls WA Awards Night Finalists – Clubs, Officials, Coaches and Volunteers

by Clive Adams on May 4, 2023

Congratulations to the finalists for the 2022/23 Bowls WA Awards, to be presented on a magnificent evening at Optus Stadium on Friday, June 2nd 2023. The evening promises to be a grand spectacle befitting of Bowls WA’s 125th year celebrations.

Six clubs have been announced as finalists for the prestigious Metropolitan Club of the Year, with three of those also in the running for Metro Small Club of the Year, given they have 125 or less members with playing rights.

The Jim Murray Country Club of the Year sees six clubs in the running, with again, three of them in the running for the Small Country Club of the Year Award.

Clubs are congratulated for the sheer volume and high quality of the submissions received this year. It is pleasing to see so many clubs willing to put themselves forward for the awards.

The important Volunteer of the Year Award has been narrowed down to three contenders following another set of strong nominations received, with a further head to head battle for the Club Official of the Year.

Three coaches complete this round of announcements, and with the coaching role so important in our sport, the winner of the Coach of the Year Award will certainly richly deserve the honour.

Finalists for the individual awards will be announced as they come to hand. With events still to be completed, it could be that late results have an impact on the final list of contenders.

In what is sure to be jam packed evening, this year’s awards night will include a celebration of Kristina Krstic’s remarkable Commonwealth Games Gold Medal win, as well as some special announcements of the Bowls WA 125th anniversary Allstar teams.

Tickets for this year’s awards night are selling fast, so if you do want to be part of this amazing night, contact Bowls WA on 9340 0800 to secure your seats.
