Men’s Inter Zone Round Robin
February 4th and 5th 2017 The annual Men’s Inter Zone Round Robin will be held at Halls Head Bowling Club this weekend 4th and 5th February with the best Men’s Country bowlers in action.
Bragging rights amongst the four Country zones Eastern, South West, Southern and Northern are well and truly up for grabs in the 42nd running. Eastern, South West and Southern zones have all claimed the event 11 times in the past with Northern having won it 8 times. The host zone South West look well placed with a strong contingent of Murray Districts players who would have good experience on the Halls Head synthetic greens along with some well know former metro bowlers in Keith Guelfi, John and Matthew Trewhella and Graham Evans all in action. Last years winners also look a big chance to defend with Aaron Smith, Justin Smith and Matthew France spearheaded an otherwise experienced line-up. Northern zone are led by last years Men’s Countryweek Singles champion Michael Ford, Glen (T-Bone) Jones (pictured), Steve Palmer, Brad King and Geoff Ellis other well know names in the side. Southern zone could well be the surprise packet with Warren Holt, Mark Wunnenburg, David Cliff skippering another experienced line-up.
