Support for those affected in Hills Bushfire

  Bowls WA extends best wishes to the residents affected in the Swan Hills bushfires.
 
Thoughts are especially with those members of our bowling community who have been impacted and we wish them all the best in recovery and re-establishing their homes.
 
Frank Alban MLA State Member for Swan Hills released a statement to all affected residents and those wishing to support those affected by the bushfires.
 
Part of the statement is as follows;
 
On Monday the State Government announced a $1million donation to the Lord Mayor’s Distress Relief Fund to help victims of the file. In addition, the State Government is making available an emergency relief payment of $3,000 to those whose homes have been destroyed and $1,000 to people whose houses have been damaged but which are still habitable. This will available through the Shire of Mundaring and affected residents can register their details with the Shire by phoning (08) 9290 6666. Information regarding further support and information is available at www.mundaring.wa.gov.au
This includes a list of resources for those affected, as well as avenues for those who wish to lend assistance.
 
In addition, the Federal Government announced an Australian Disaster Recovery Payment for those eligible people who have been adversely affected by the fire. Assistance of $1,000 per eligible adult and $400 per eligible child are available. Claims can be made online at www.humanservices.gov.au or by calling the Australian Government information Hotline on 180 22 66 from 8am to 5pm local time, Monday to Friday.
