The Mandurah APL Cup starting list continues to grow

by admin on September 3, 2015

Played Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September 2015 Western Australian Bowling Clubs continue to accept their invites to play in the Mandurah APL Cup on Saturday 26th September and Sunday 27th September 2015.
Gingin players are proven event winners which has helped provide their club with an Outstanding Country Club of the year award, an Outstanding Small Country Club of the Year award and an Outstanding Club at Women’s Countryweek trophy all in recent years.
With that kind of history, a forward showing would be expected at the Mandurah APL Cup by the men and women of the Gingin Bowling Club
It wasn’t that long ago that the Middleton Beach Bowling Club won consecutive Jim Murray awards for the Outstanding Country Club of the Year.
The 2014-15 season saw this club win both the Men’s and Women’s Lower Great Southern pennant titles making them an ideal country club representative at the Mandurah APL Cup.
No tournament would be complete without the Osborne Park Bowling Club involved. A host of men and women former and current state representatives will make this club a team to watch.
Last season may not have been up to their usual expectations in both the men’s and women’s premier league, so a big preseason tournament may just be what they are looking for to fire the 2015-16 season up.
Innaloo men ventured into the metropolitan premier league last season and acquitted themselves with distinction, especially at home.
The Mandurah surfaces will hold no fear for this rising club and both the men and women will look towards the Mandurah APL Cup as another step forward to solidify their position in top flight bowls in Western Australia.
The Mandurah APL Cup will be a tournament full of action and a lot of bowls with seven rounds of sectional play followed by quarter finals, semi finals and a grand final.
Apart from the final series, the highlight will be the late afternoon and evening sessions as each section of eight teams will take their turn to be on centre stage on the Mandurah Bowling and Recreation Club Indoor bowling green.
