Week 11 BCiB Metro Pennants The competition is really starting to heat up now, so much so that a couple women’s games even had to be cancelled on Saturday. The good news is almost everyone got on the green though and some big wins got picked up again this week.
The first eight of 2016 was scored in pennants on Saturday. Neville Stevens, Sean Mawdsley, Darren Rowland and Gordon King picked up a full boat for Osborne Park’s Premier League side. The count more than a fifth of their total score as they picked up a 38-8 win.
The biggest rink win came courtesy of Leeming’s big win over South Perth in 3rd Division Red. The team of Alexander Anderson, Thomas Mathein, Brett Flynn and Charles Davis won 42-2 over their rivals, playing a big part in their sides win.
The largest aggregate margin came from Premier League this week with Manning’s dominant display over Kardinya. Three of the four rinks recorded double digit wins but it was the two Matts that did most of the damage. Matt Mitchell and his side were the biggest winners in Premier League with their 39-7 win. Matt Ellul and his rink weren’t far behind as they ran out winners 34-6.
This week’s largest women’s rink win came from the 3rd tier of the competition. Warwicks 3rd Division Blue rink of Janet Ridley, Angela Loran, Julie Weddell and Louisa Moltzan went home 29 shot winners with a score of 36-7. The win secured Warwick control of the match with the other rink being eventually decided by a single shot.
The round’s biggest aggregate came from Wanneroo’s 2nd Division Lime side who were victorious 61-23 over Scarborough. Both rinks were comfortable winners with Theresa O’Day’s 26 shot win good enough to be the largest in 2nd Division.
The leading rink on the women’s 1st Red skip ladder have been out to show why recently as they had the divisions biggest win this week for the second game in a row. Shari Solly, Susan Hogg, Shaan Saunders and Suzanne Barrow were 24-6 winners this week following on from their 27-10 victory last week. The rink is unbeaten through nine rounds of play and it will be interesting to see how long they can continue their good form.
