North Beach shine in 3 Gold
Round 14 in review After a lot of rain in the lead up to this week’s matches only four clubs were unable to host play this week which was very pleasing to see. Now that the season is beginning to get down to the pointy end points are becoming extremely valuable so the fact that most teams got to play for those points is very good for the competition. Now it’s time to see who took the opportunity on offer to improve their team’s position with a big win.
Men’s Saturday Competition
North Beach’s 3rd Division Gold side were this week’s biggest aggregate winners with a monstrous 70 shot win. The game had been close to being called off in the morning but the North Beach boys would be very happy to have gotten their game in with their 114-44 win giving them another eight points. The eight points has helped them make up significant ground on the two sides above them in the quest for promotion.
The biggest rink win for the week came out of 2nd Division where Brian Barnfield’s Forrestfield rink picked a 30 shot win. The win was the difference between the two sides in 2nd White and helped the side pick six points to keep the team in fourth place.

Women’s Tuesday Competition
Gosnells 1 were far too good for their opponents in 2nd Division Red on Tuesday as they won by 54 shots to be the biggest winners of the round. They collected all six points to remain in second place just a point behind top spot with three games left to play. A key part of the crucial win was the rink skippered by Susan Randell. Their 44-13 win made up over half the aggregate margin and the 31 shot win was enough to be the biggest in either men’s or women’s pennants this week.
