Bowls to honour past members

by Aaron Delaporte on November 6, 2018

Bowls WA is encouraging clubs to honour those who have passed on during the off season with a minute of silence prior to the roll-up for the opening round of fixtures across all pennant competitions. It is hoped this mark of respect for those loved members who have contributed to the sport will become a tradition for clubs each year.

In line with this the Cambridge and Bassendean Bowling Clubs will honour the memory of Daniel Patterson, having played at both clubs he tragically passed in a work accident during the off-season. The inaugural “Patterson Cup” will be awarded to the club that finishes with the best aggregate record in the two Premier League fixtures contested by these clubs each season.  The second round match will be scheduled as a Friday night fixture allowing those that wish to attend, to do so.
