Hong Kong youth to visit Perth

by Aaron Delaporte on January 16, 2020

Several Perth clubs will play host to a Hong Kong national youth team next week, in a series of matches and intensive training sessions.

The visit is the first in what is hoped to become a long-term exchange program with Hong Kong and a number of emerging bowls powers in South East Asia. Already we have seen bowls nations in Singapore and Malaysia take it right up to the very best in World events, but emerging nations such as India, Japan, Thailand and the Philippines are also beginning to make their presence felt.

The Youth side will play matches at Fremantle, South Perth, Rossmoyne, Manning and Mosman Park over the week commencing the 24th – 30th and be interested onlookers for the State Singles finals on the 27th at Osborne Park.

It will also be the first hit-out of our own State Academy group who will take on the visitors at Mosman Park on Wednesday 29th, under the watchful eye of Academy Coach Linda Warburton.

Interested onlookers are welcome to get specific times and dates from the BWA office.
