HiJackers Steal the Show
Hilton Park hosted the 2023 Community Shield event over the weekend with 24 hopeful teams entering to play for the biggest title in Community level bowls in WA. Teams from across the metropolitan area from Quinns Rocks through to Safety Bay assembled to do battle over four rounds to find the ultimate champions.
With a buzz across the greens, and some dubiously short ends requiring masterful precision, the quality of play was excellent with many of the players displaying skills far beyond their experience in the sport.
In the final scheme of things, and with some last minute final result checks, it was the Hijackers from Bassendean that took the title. Andy Sullivan, Nigel Seymour, Mick Burman and Paul Roberts were the winning combination narrowly home over the Quinns Rocks’ Bowling Stones in second and Bassendean’s Cavi Crew who came third.
Congratulations to Hilton Park for hosting another wonderful event. All 24 teams had an amazing day and we are sure we will see plenty of them on the greens well into the future.
