Swing Arm Mixed Open
Middleton Beach Bowling Club hosted the annual Swing Arm Mixed Open yesterday with an increased participation of 14 teams – the perfect amount of teams to play on seven rink B Green. This event rotates between Middleton Beach, Albany, and Emu Point Bowling Clubs.
In a first, some members of the state Sandgropers Bowling Arm Association travelled south to participate and had a great time – so much so that this event may become a regular fixture on the Sandgropers training timeline of events.
Next year the game will be held at Albany Bowling Club and until then we will work on increasing the profile of armed bowlers in our communities. Without the use of bowling arms there are MANY players who would no longer enjoy the sport of bowls … and for a sport that is for everyone, that would be a shame!
