Men’s and Women’s Metro Dream Team Squads

by Pieter Harris on May 16, 2023

In continuation of Bowls WA’s 125-Year Celebrations, the Men’s and Women’s Metropolitan Dream Team Sqauds of 64 have dropped.

So many great players are involved and unfortunately, so many great players have missed out. Some of those to miss out are our current generation who are only part-way through their careers. However, it augurs well for them in the future as we move closer to the Bowls WA 150th-year celebration and these players have had the opportunity to add to their resumes.

All our WA Hall of Fame Players have been automatically been included but they will have to earn their place like everyone else, if they are to continue when the squad is reduced to 32 and then our final 20 players.

To have any chance to make the Men’s Squad, you had to have won a minimum of three state titles and even then a singles title would have helped significantly.

For the Women’s Squad, a couple of two State Title winners with a singles title got through but generally, three or more titles were required.

The Squad will be reduced to 32 next week and like the Country Dream Team Squads, all final teams will be announced at the Bowls WA Awards night on Friday, June 2nd.
