Bowls WA 2023 – 2024 Calendar

The Final BWA 2023-24 Calendar of Events can be viewed on the below link and all clubs have recently sent copies for distribution.

The Draft Bowls WA 2023-24 Calendar of Events was sent to all metropolitan and country clubs on Friday 12^th May, with all clubs requested to return any comments or suggestions by Friday 24^th May. The received suggestions were considered and acted upon.

Important Dates in the Calendar

Country

• Country Leagues decide their own dates and venues for Men’s and Women’s Inter League and Inter Zone Round Robins. The dates and venues that BWA have received are in the calendar and the remaining dates will be updated once we have received them.

• Despite an early Easter, Women’s Countryweek is from Monday 18^th – Saturday 23^rd March.

Metropolitan

• To allow Women’s Countryweek to be played at the end of March, it was required that Metro Women’s Pennant return after Christmas/New Year on Tuesday 9^th January 2024. Pushing Women’s Countryweek into April to allow a longer Pennant break was considered but that would mean playing Women’s Countryweek in the school holidays which potentially raises accommodation costs for our Country Ladies.

• Playing Saturday Pennant after Easter was considered but ultimately it was decided that an extended break between rounds 17 and 18 or round 18 and Pennant Finals was not the preferred option. Therefore

• Saturday Pennant has a doubleheader on the weekend of Saturday 4^th and Sunday 5^th November 2023
• Saturday Pennant returns after the Christmas/New Year break on Saturday 6^th January 2024
