Country Online Umpires Forums coming up!

For umpires and interested players

The WA State Umpires Committee is intending to conduct online forums via Zoom for umpires and interested players in the Country areas of WA. The forum will include a quick review of basic umpiring skills, and we will discuss laws, policies and Domestic Regulations.

We will be conducting these forums in zones on the following dates:

Eastern Bowling Zone – Monday 20^th November – 6.30pm start

Northern Bowling Zone – Thursday 23^rd November – 6.30pm start

Southern Bowling Zone – Monday 27^th November – 6.30pm start

South Western Bowling Zone – Tuesday 28^th November – 6.30pm start

Participation in the forums will require registration with Bowls WA prior to the date. Please contact Clare Sopp at clare@bowlswa.com.au . A link to attend the Zoom meeting will then be sent to those who register.

We realise that harvest is ongoing at this time of the year and these dates may not suit everyone in the zone at that particular time. However, please register your interest with Bowls WA and numbers will determine whether we hold further forums in the future for those who can’t attend on the above dates.

We ask that those attending the Zoom meeting submit questions relating to laws, policies or Domestic Regulations and these will be addressed during the evening and your anonymity respected.

We have successfully used Zoom to extend knowledge and interpretation of laws to country bowlers before.  Whilst we conduct forums in the Metro area, we can now do the same for our country bowlers using Zoom. All attendees remain in the comfort of their own homes.
