Bowlers turn out for Veterans Day
Last Thursday 77 players from 12 clubs went to Gosnells and Wanneroo Bowling Clubs to participate in Women’s Veteran’s Day.
Veteran’s day is a nice, relaxed season opener to celebrate our players over the age of 70.
Players go to either the north or south venue and compete in a fun day of drawn triples.
The best represented club was Safety Bay who had 20 players attend at Gosnells.
Gosnells had 42 players in competition with the winning team being Lucy Tinley (Leeming), Margaret Thorston (Bull Creek) and Lyn Jury (Gosnells).
Wanneroo was slightly less busy with just the 35 participants and the ladies decided to play without having any competition winners.
As a sign of appreciation each player received a pot plant at the end of the day’s play.
