Denison Ladies Classic 25th Anniversary

by Aaron Delaporte on September 2, 2019

Over the weekend the 25th Denison Ladies Classic was held and was a fantastic couple of days of bowls.

A weekend predicted to be a complete wash out from the beginning, ended up being two days of sunshine and fun with rain setting an hour after of finishing.

Day 1 ended with two teams on top with no losses, and one team with no losses but one draw, meaning Day 2 was going to be a close battle for the top with only two games left to play. After the first round on Day 2 it was still anyone’s game.

With the final game over it was the team from Osborne Park of Pam Chalmers, Helen Stevens, Cheryl Tyrrell and Kaitlin Tyrrell who took out the prize drawing one game and winning the rest. In second place was the team from Wonthella and a team from Morley took out third.

Overall a great event run by a fantastic group of ladies, that I’m certain people will continue to come from all over WA to participate in.

Well done to Denison Bowling Club and bring on the next 25 years of the Classic.
